Hard Act to Follow was written and recorded in 2023 in Studio B of my studio complex. The song was based on a conversation that LR n' I had about the concept of getting older as a performer and musician and hoping to or trying to remain relevant.
It was recorded as a break, or distraction from being bogged down in the main recording project of recording the songs that I used to perform in Beijing. I laid a guitar riff and a drum beat and then just rolled the loop and wrote the song.
