It Doesn't Make Sense to Me

from Shuffling Deckchairs by Steve BLaque

about

It Doesn't Make Sense to Me was written and recorded all within my San Li Tun studio under very trying circumstance around May to June 2009. It was based on a documentary on Cuba which correlated with my reading a novel at the same time given over by good friend Bobby Tam (mentioned elsewhere on this volume). I grew up with both the knowledge of Cuba, the Bay of Pigs, Castro, and Kennedy. The whole saga was indelibly stamped on my mind. The song was a reaction to multiculturalism and disbelief that what we were being fed by the United Nations could possibly stand up beneath the weight of something so palpably stupid as the stand off between America and Cuba. I think it's a no brainer. The song was written in a night and recorded the next day, mixed and completed. I never touched it again. I'd made my comment.
